Old Reclaimed stone troughs make wonderful garden ornaments, as planters or water features, or merely to appreciate as historical artefacts. Natural Stone troughs can date back centuries. They are found in many parts of the British Isles, wherever stone was plentiful and livestock were kept. They were usually made on site and hollowed out from large blocks of stone. Old stone troughs were usually used to hold water for livestock, less often to hold animal feed and occasionally for industrial use.
