Description
Bring the timeless character of traditional British streets to your driveway, path or garden with our Yorkshire Stone Riven Cobble Setts. Newly quarried and individually hand-split, each sett combines the authentic texture of traditional stonework with the consistency and quality of new material.
Hand-split for natural character
“Riven” means the stone has been split along its natural layers rather than sawn, leaving a textured, undulating surface on every sett. This gives a characterful, hand-crafted finish with excellent grip underfoot, and ensures no two setts are quite the same. Subtle variations in tone across buff, brown and grey shades bring natural depth and warmth to the finished surface.
Flexible to lay
With a 100mm face width and random lengths, the setts can be laid in straight courses, stretcher bond (staggered rows like brickwork) or more informal patterns, making them adaptable to curves, edges and features. At approximately 40mm to 70mm thick, they are suited to paths and patios, and to driveways when laid on a rigid concrete base.
Ideal for
- Driveways and parking areas
- Paths and garden walkways
- Edging, banding and borders around paving or lawns
- Courtyards and entrance areas
- Garden features and decorative detailing
- Traditional and period property landscaping
Durable Yorkshire stone
Yorkshire stone has been used to pave Britain’s streets and yards for centuries, valued for its strength, hard-wearing nature and attractive weathering. These setts will perform for many years and only gain in character with age.
Setts are supplied and priced per square meter, making it simple to order for your area. For larger projects or specific requirements, our team can provide a tailored quotation, delivery options and practical advice. Viewings at our Sheffield yard are always welcome.
